The Premier League fixture between Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth got halted within eight minutes from kick-off as Danilo sustained a horror injury. The Brazilian midfielder went for an aerial challenge with Antoine Semenyo inside the centre circle and then landed awkwardly on the ground. The referee immediately stopped the game and medical help was rushed onto the pitch.

At first, it was believed that the 23-year-old might have suffered a very serious injury that could keep him sidelined on a long-term basis, however, the player confirmed on Sunday on social media that he is already back home from the hospital and expects to stage a comeback to the pitch soon.

On Instagram, Danilo uploaded a story where he wrote, "'Hey guys. I'm just stopping by to say that I'm fine, thank God, and I'm already home. We'll be back soon. Thank you for all the messages of support."
